Strawberries

June - Mid-July

We grow 10 acres of mouthwatering strawberries. They are our first u-pick crop planted in 1939! Strawberries are also the first u-pick crop of the season and a longtime customer favorite.

For opening day updates and picking conditions, keep an eye on our social media pages, follow our newsletter or give us a call.

Strawberry varieties ripen at different times throughout the season. Some are early-season varieties, while others don’t ripen until July. You may notice differences in size and sweetness—smaller berries are often extra sweet, while larger berries can vary depending on rainfall and frost conditions during flowering and fruit development.

Some visitors may remember when picking areas were assigned, but today you’re free to pick anywhere in the field. Be sure to check in with an employee at the white wagon or in the farm store to find out which rows are offering the best picking on any given day.

While picking, you’ll notice straw in the fields. Straw is used to protect plants and flower buds during the winter and early spring. Each winter, rows are covered with straw, which is then raked off in May.

Strawberry varieties we grow include:
Jewel, AC Valley Sunset, AC Wendy, and more
